Fish production in remote areas of South Sudan and especially those areas which are affected by conflict can provide an immediate source of food for vulnerable populations. CMW’s Fisheries production is not only aiming at improving the availability of fresh, protein-rich food, but also increasing income generation for the local communities. CMW plans to carry out this programme by distributing fishing kits to poor and most vulnerable communities to enable them access to enough food for about six months, either through household consumption or sales in the market. CMW fisheries production is geared to help the most affected communities to re-build their livelihoods and assure food availability for their households.
